Eaglemount Wine & Cider
We are a family owned and operated winery specializing in red wines and hard ciders.
Located on an 1883 homestead we continue the tradition of hard cider, just as the original homesteaders did, using over 30 varieties of heirloom apples from our homestead orchard and other antique orchards on the peninsula. We also have an english and french cider orchard which provides added complexity to our ciders.
For our red wines, we bring in premium hand picked grapes from eastern Washington AVAs to our winery and process, ferment, and age the wines in oak barrels in our underground cellar. We bottle the wines as varietals or Bordeaux-style and other blends.
Our red wines and hard ciders have won gold, silver, and bronze medals at wine competitions.
Why hard ciders and red wines? Not many wineries produce this combination of products. We feel we are using the best that Washington produces.
Apples grow well here in the Olympic Peninsula and the flavors and complexity are much better than the few varieties of apples that are available commercially. Is it the marine influence and/or the mild summers that produce such delicious fruit?
Washington is now world famous for red wine varietals grown in eastern Washington where geological events and climate have produced the perfect 'terroir' for certain wine grapes varieties. We are proud to be able to select the best of these grapes from well tended vineyards in the Wahluke Slope, Horse Heaven Hills, Columbia Valley, and Red Mountain AVAs.
